Job Overview: The Chief of Staff will serve as the CEO’s strategic execution partner, driving alignment, accountability, and momentum across the organization. This role combines strategy, operations, communication, and special projects.
Duties and Responsibilities: Act as a force multiplier for the CEO by managing priorities, follow-through, and decision flow. Prepare daily and weekly executive briefings covering priorities, risks, deadlines, and opportunities. Convert CEO ideas into structured action plans, owners, and timelines. Ensure the CEO’s time is focused on fundraising, partnerships, growth, and strategic leadership. Drive execution of key company initiatives across operations, partnerships, technology, and project delivery. Coordinate teams to ensure milestones are met on time and blockers are escalated quickly. Lead weekly business reviews and progress tracking meetings. Own high-priority CEO initiatives such as market expansion, fundraising readiness, new partnerships, or product launches. Conduct research, build business cases, and recommend execution strategies. Ensure clear communication of priorities across leadership and teams. Track commitments made in meetings and enforce follow-up. Build reporting systems, dashboards, and accountability cadences. Support preparation for investor, donor, board, government, and strategic partner meetings. Draft briefing notes, presentations, memos, and follow-up summaries. Identify inefficiencies and implement systems, processes, and automation. Help build a high-performance culture centered on ownership, speed, and transparency.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Finance, Management, or related field. MBA is a plus. 5+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, startups, venture building, development finance, or executive support. Exceptional project management and execution discipline. Strong analytical thinking and business judgment. Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, founder-led environment. Highly organized, commercially minded, politically aware, and relentlessly execution-focused. Ability to move from boardroom strategy to operational detail in the same hour. Anticipate needs, reduce chaos, and make leaders more effective.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Finance, Management, or related field. MBA is a plus.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, startups, venture building, development finance, or executive support.

Additional Notes: Preferred Experience: Experience in startups, tech platforms, donor ecosystems, ESG, philanthropy, or African development sectors. Experience working directly with founders, CEOs, or senior executives. Familiarity with dashboards, CRMs, productivity systems, and data tools.
