Job Description
Job Overview:
A senior, authority‑facing role operating in high‑audit environments, with responsibility for managing corporate tax operations, audits, and tax authority engagements across the African region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage end‑to‑end corporate tax compliance across Africa, including corporate income tax, withholding taxes, freight taxes, and transfer pricing filings. Ensure accurate, timely, and defensible tax filings aligned with local regulations and audit expectations. Lead tax audits, enquiries, assessments, and dispute resolution with tax authorities across the region. Own tax controversy management, including technical submissions, objections, negotiations, and settlement strategies. Deliver global and regional tax reporting requirements, including CbCR and Pillar Two. Drive proactive audit readiness through robust documentation, technical position papers, and evidence management. Manage tax accounting, provisioning, and uncertain tax positions with clear linkage to audit and dispute risk. Identify, assess, and manage tax risks arising from regulatory changes and business activities. Strengthen standardized tax processes, controls, and governance frameworks. Collaborate closely with Finance, Legal, business teams, and external advisors to manage authority interactions. Leverage data and technology to enhance audit readiness and efficiency.

Required Qualifications:
Professional tax or accounting qualification (e.g. Chartered Accountant, CPA). Minimum of 10 years’ post‑qualification experience in corporate tax. Proven experience leading tax audits, enquiries, and disputes in high‑audit environments. Strong technical expertise with the ability to defend complex tax positions. Experience operating independently across multiple jurisdictions. Fluency in English and French. Strong judgement, stakeholder management, and authority‑facing credibility.
