Job Description
Job Overview:
The Senior Scientist will be responsible for performing and overseeing advanced laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy of results, maintaining quality standards, and supporting diagnostic excellence within the laboratory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform and supervise complex laboratory tests across assigned diagnostic departments, ensure accuracy, reliability, and timely delivery of test results, review and validate test results before reporting, operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, adhere to laboratory quality management systems and SOPs, ensure compliance with ISO standards, support daily laboratory workflow, ensure proper handling and documentation of specimens, maintain laboratory hygiene and safety standards, ensure proper use and maintenance of laboratory equipment, maintain accurate laboratory records, work closely with Laboratory Managers and other scientists, adhere to laboratory safety protocols.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related discipline, registered with MLSCN, membership of AMLSN is an added advantage.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related discipline.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years post NYSC relevant experience in a diagnostic or medical laboratory, experience across multiple laboratory departments is an advantage.
Languages:
English
