Job Overview: Nexplumb is a tech startup building a platform to modernise and bring structure to the plumbing industry. We are in active development and need a volunteerProduct Manager to help define our product direction and structure our processes.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Own the product thinking — help define what we build, why we build it, and in what order. 2. Bring structure to ambiguity — translate rough ideas and business goals into clear product requirements. 3. Lead with reasoning — every suggestion comes with context, data, logic, or user insight to back it. 4. Run discovery work — ask the right questions about users, market, and problems before jumping to solutions. 5. Write clear documentation — PRDs, user stories, product briefs, or whatever format best fits the context. 6. Work collaboratively with the founding team — challenge thinking respectfully and constructively. 7. Help prioritise ruthlessly — define what matters most right now and defend the reasoning. 8. Spot gaps and blind spots — flag what we are missing before it becomes a problem.
Required Qualifications: 1. Real product management experience — you have shipped or significantly contributed to a digital product. 2. Structured, evidence-backed thinking — your suggestions always come with a 'why' and you can articulate it clearly. 3. Comfort with ambiguity — you can find direction when things are unclear and turn fog into a path. 4. Strong written communication — you can write a brief, a spec, or a decision doc that others can actually act on. 5. Ability to ask sharp questions — you challenge assumptions before accepting them. 6. Collaborative without being passive — you work with the team but you are not afraid to push back with logic. 7. Self-directed — you do not need to be managed into doing the work. 8. Portfolio or case studies you can share — something that shows how you think, not just what you did.

Additional Notes: This is a 100% voluntary, unpaid role. No financial compensation, stipend, or equity at this stage. This opportunity is for a product thinker who wants to practice their craft on a real product and earn an official certificate of contribution.
