Job Overview: The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for achieving assigned regional revenue targets and driving market expansion, customer retention, and pipeline growth for the Diagnostics Business Unit while ensuring strong forecasting accuracy, team productivity, and customer satisfaction across the region.
Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with the company’s national objectives. Lead, coach, and motivate Area Sales Managers and Executives to meet individual and collective sales goals. Achieve and exceed the region’s quarterly and annual sales revenue targets. Identify and develop new business opportunities to increase market penetration and customer acquisition. Manage and strengthen relationships with key regional and national accounts to drive retention and revenue growth. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to inform sales strategy and execution. Ensure accurate and timely sales forecasting and reporting for the region. Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Product teams to support promotional initiatives and operational excellence. Oversee dealer and distributor performance within the region, ensuring effective channel management and growth. Provide continuous feedback, training, and performance reviews for the sales team to enhance productivity.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or related field (MBA is an added advantage). A minimum of Second Class Upper or Upper Credit. 7+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 3 years in a regional or senior sales management role within the diagnostics or medical equipment industry. Proven record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Strong leadership, people management, and coaching skills. Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication abilities. Demonstrated experience in key account management and distributor/channel development. Proficiency in CRM tools, sales analytics, and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to drive. Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
