Job Overview: FarmSmarter is building practical digital tools to help smallholder farmers improve productivity, reduce crop losses, make better farming decisions and access stronger market opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities: Engage farmer groups, cooperatives, agro-dealers, input suppliers, market actors, farming associations and local agricultural networks. Support farmer training sessions, product demonstrations, onboarding events and community meetings. Explain FarmSmarter clearly using approved scripts, messages and training materials. Support outreach to commercial agri-businesses, including input suppliers, produce buyers, distributors, service providers and marketplace partners. Help build trust, awareness and adoption of FarmSmarter in farming communities. Collect feedback from farmers and partners, including common questions, concerns and barriers to adoption. Support local publicity through radio mentions, community announcements, WhatsApp groups, stakeholder introductions and event promotion. Keep clear records of outreach activity, contacts, follow-ups, training attendance, farmer sign-ups and partner conversations. Support ambassadors, field contacts and community champions where required. Provide simple reports on outreach progress, user engagement, partner interest and community feedback.
Required Qualifications: 1–2 years’ experience in community engagement, field marketing, agricultural outreach, sales support, training coordination, communications or mobilisation. Strong verbal communication skills and confidence speaking with farmers, community members and local stakeholders. Good organisational skills and reliable follow-up. Interest in agriculture, food systems, technology, rural development or impact-led business. Comfortable using WhatsApp, phone calls, spreadsheets and basic digital tools. Willingness to travel locally for outreach, training and community engagement. Ability to work well in a small, fast-moving team.

Languages: Ability to speak one or more Nigerian languages relevant to farming communities.
Additional Notes: Experience working with farmers, agro-dealers, cooperatives, agricultural associations or rural communities in Nigeria is desirable.
