Job Description
Job Overview:
The Mines Store Manager is responsible for planning, managing and controlling all stores and inventory operations supporting mining and limestone operations at DCP Ibese, ensuring uninterrupted availability of critical mining spares, consumables and materials, while maintaining strict inventory control, HSE compliance, cost optimization and asset protection.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee receipt, storage, issuance and control of all mining-related materials, spare parts, consumables, tools and PPE. Ensure timely availability of critical spares for mining equipment such as dump trucks, excavators, drills, loaders, crushers, conveyors and auxiliary equipment. Manage on-site mine stores and satellite stores, ensuring proper layout, labeling and material segregation. Coordinate inter-store transfer between plant stores and mines stores where applicable. Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system (SAP MM/WM or equivalent). Define and monitor minimum, maximum and critical stock levels for mining spares and consumables. Conduct cycle counts, periodic stocktakes and surprise checks; investigate and resolve variances. Identify and manage slow-moving, obsolete and surplus inventory, recommending disposal or redeployment. Support Finance during month-end and year-end inventory valuation and reconciliations. Ensure all receipts are supported by valid purchase orders, delivery notes and inspections approvals. Control issuance strictly against approved material requisitions, job cards and work orders. Enforce authorization matrices for issuance of high-value, sensitive or controlled items. Prevent stock losses through strict access control, documentation discipline and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security coordination. Ensure full compliance with Dangote Cement HSE policies and mining safety regulations. Enforce safe storage and handling of lubricants, oils, chemicals, explosives-related materials (if applicable). Ensure availability and proper use of spill kits, fire-fighting equipment and safety signage. Participate actively in HSE inspections, risk assessments and incidents investigations. Work closely with Mines Operations and Maintenance teams to forecast material requirements and prevent downtime. Liaise with Procurement on lead times, supplier performance and urgent sourcing of long-lead items. Coordinate with Logistics and Security on inbound deliverables and safe movement of materials to mines sites. Provide input into annual budgets, shutdown planning and major maintenance activities. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly mines stores reports covering stock levels, usage trends, variances and critical shortages. Maintain accurate documentation for audits trials, including GRNs, issue vouchers, transfer notes and adjustment reports. Support internal and external audits, ensuring zero audits queries on mines inventory. Supervise and develop mines stores officers, clerks and assistants. Ensure staff are trained on ERP usage, inventory procedures, material identification and HSE practices. Conduct performance appraisals, coaching and disciplinary actions in line with company policy. Promote teamwork, discipline and accountability within the mines stores team.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.Sc./HND) in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical/Electrical/Mining Engineering, Logistics or related discipline. Minimum of 6-8 years experience in stores inventory management within Mining, Cement Manufacturing, Quarry or heavy equipment operations. Minimum of three (3) years experience in a supervisory or managerial role. Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP MM/WM preferred).

Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree (B.Sc./HND) in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical/Electrical/Mining Engineering, Logistics or related discipline.

Experience:
Minimum of 6-8 years experience in stores inventory management within Mining, Cement Manufacturing, Quarry or heavy equipment operations. Minimum of three (3) years experience in a supervisory or managerial role.

Additional Notes:
Strong knowledge of mining equipment spare parts and consumables. Inventory planning and analytical skills. High level of integrity and control consciousness. Sound understanding of HSE and mining safety requirements. Leadership, people management and communication skills. Ability to work in remote mines environments under pressure. Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities.
