Job Overview: GIZ International Services is shortlisted for the EU-funded tender: 'Technical Assistance to ECOWAS in Transport Governance in West Africa', based in Abuja, Nigeria. The overall objective is to promote sustainable, smart, resilient and safe mobility to strengthen land, air and water transport regulatory frameworks in the ECOWAS region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The key expert will primarily be based in Abuja, Nigeria, with regular missions supporting corridor observatories, digital platforms, and road safety systems in ECOWAS and West Africa Member States.
Required Qualifications: A university degree in information technology, data analytics, computer science, AI or a related field. Desirable, a post-graduate degree (Master’s level or equivalent) is an added advantage. Fluency in English or French, with at least good working knowledge of the other language being an asset. Strong skills in the design, development, and management of digital information systems and data platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Educational Background: A university degree in information technology, data analytics, computer science, AI or a related field; post-graduate degree is an advantage.
Experience: At least 15 years of professional experience in digital systems, information management, data analytics, or related fields. At least 5 years of experience in developing and managing digital platforms, databases, or observatories in the fields of transport, logistics, infrastructure, or regional integration. Experience with data standards, interoperability, and data governance frameworks is an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English or French, with at least good working knowledge of the other language being an asset.
Additional Notes: This position is suited to a part-time position (50%). Applications can only be considered if they fulfil all mandatory requirements entirely. GIZ has to select a candidate for this position before submitting the offer to the donor.
