Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, commercially astute, and solution-oriented Legal Counsel to join our dynamic Legal Team in Lagos. This role is ideal for a lawyer with strong commercial acumen and hands-on experience supporting fast-paced business operations within fintech, banking, technology, or commercial legal advisory space.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, provide day-to-day legal advisory support to internal business and operational teams, assist with dispute management, debt recovery matters, and support internal compliance, corporate governance, and data protection initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
LL.B and B.L qualifications from recognized institutions, called to the Nigerian Bar between 2019 and 2021.
Educational Background:
Relevant experience gained within fintech companies, banks, other financial institutions, technology-driven businesses, or commercial law firms with strong fintech, banking, or financial services exposure.
Experience:
Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory skills, sound understanding of commercial transactions and operational legal risks, strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Languages:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
