Job Overview:
Wellington College International Lagos (WCIL) is a new world-class co-educational day and boarding school opening in September 2027. The Head of Boarding will lead all aspects of provision in the boarding house, ensuring excellent academic and pastoral care for the boarders while promoting the ethos and values of Wellington College, UK.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Head of Boarding is responsible for managing the boarding staff, ensuring the welfare and personal development of boarders, organizing activities, maintaining high standards of care, and liaising with parents and guardians. The role includes strategic planning for the boarding program, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant area is preferred. Exemplary levels of written and spoken English are required, and proficiency in Mandarin Chinese may be an advantage.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area preferred.
Experience:
Demonstrable experience in boarding management in either bilingual or international schools, with experience in premium market schools being advantageous.
Languages:
Exemplary levels of written and spoken English; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese may be an advantage.
Additional Notes:
The position is residential, requiring the post holder to live in accommodation specified by the Master during term and contribute to all duties while pupils are living in school.
