Job Overview: The Head, General Insurance Marketing is responsible for driving revenue growth, market expansion, and brand positioning for the company’s general insurance portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic marketing plans to grow the general insurance portfolio (e.g., motor, fire, marine, engineering, oil & gas, etc.). Drive premium income generation and achieve set revenue targets. Lead and manage the marketing and business development team to deliver on performance objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate and individual clients, agents, partners and key stakeholders. Identify new business opportunities, market segments, and distribution channels. Collaborate with underwriting and operations teams to ensure competitive product offerings and efficient service delivery. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments. Oversee proposal preparation, contract negotiations, and closing of major accounts. Track performance metrics such as Gross Revenue, Clients Retention rate, and profitability ratios. Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, and strategic fora. Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate governance standards.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification such as CIIN (Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria) is an advantage but not a necessity. MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in insurance marketing or business development. At least 2 years in a senior level or leadership role within general insurance. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding premium and revenue targets.
