Job Overview: The Procurement Officer performs procurement activities related to the preparation of tender documents, draft and finalization of contracts or Purchase Orders (POs) for goods, works and services for FAO's Decentralized Offices.
Duties and Responsibilities: Plans, develops and supports all procurement and contractual aspects of significant complexity. Advises requisitioning units on procurement issues, prepares solicitation processes, conducts market research, and ensures compliance with FAO policies.
Required Qualifications: Advanced university degree in law, business/public administration, finance, economics, commerce, marketing or a related field and five years of relevant experience in procurement; OR a first-level degree with seven years of experience.
Educational Background: Master's degree or equivalent in relevant fields or a first-level degree with additional experience.
Experience: Five years of relevant experience in procurement activities with at least two years in public procurement.
Languages: Working knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of another official FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
