Job Overview: The Psychosocial Counselor (PSS) is responsible for providing quality, survivor-centered psychosocial support and counselling services to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV).
Duties and Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive psychosocial counseling to SGBV survivors, ensure confidentiality, document client data, update GBVIMS, lead data interpretation, develop monitoring tools, conduct sensitization sessions, facilitate support groups, strengthen community structures, support GBV officers, conduct case conferences, prepare reports.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Psychology, Social Work or other Social Science related field.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Psychology, Social Work or other Social Science related field.
Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in providing psychosocial counseling to survivors of GBV or mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).
Languages: Fluent in written and spoken English and Somali language.
