Job Description
Job Overview:
The Finance Officer will manage the school’s financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, record keeping, and financial compliance, while providing financial guidance to the school administration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage the school’s budget, financial planning, and forecasting. Prepare accurate financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow). Maintain accurate financial records including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Process financial transactions, invoices, receipts, reconciliations, and payroll. Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Monitor cash flow and financial performance and identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards and internal controls. Develop and implement internal controls to ensure accurate and secure financial transactions. Prepare for, respond to and support audits and regulatory reporting. Provide financial guidance to school leadership and collaborate with departments on budgeting and financial planning. Communicate financial information to stakeholders, including parents and teachers.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional certifications are an advantage).

Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional certifications are an advantage).

Experience:
6–10 years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a school or nonprofit environment.

Languages:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and cash flow management.

Additional Notes:
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software. Strong Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Standard office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during peak periods.
