Job Description
Job Overview:
The Clinical Director provides strategic and operational leadership for all clinical services within the hospital, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Leadership & Patient Care: Provide direct supervision and leadership to clinical staff, oversee patient care services, lead quality improvement initiatives, coordinate clinical programs, and ensure high standards of patient experience. 2. Clinical Governance & Compliance: Lead clinical governance framework, ensure compliance with healthcare standards, oversee clinical documentation, and monitor regulatory compliance. 3. Operational & Administrative Management: Support daily operations, lead clinical meetings, collaborate with departments, and develop operational strategies. 4. Human Resource Management & Capacity Development: Support recruitment, conduct performance evaluations, and mentor future clinical leaders. 5. Financial & Resource Management: Contribute to budgeting and ensure efficient resource utilization. 6. Clinical Practice & Representation: Maintain clinical practice, represent the hospital in engagements, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
MBBS or MBChB from a recognized institution, Fellowship qualification (FWACS, FWACP, or equivalent), Valid Annual Practicing Licence with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Educational Background:
MBBS or MBChB from a recognized institution, Fellowship qualification (FWACS, FWACP, or equivalent).
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years post-fellowship clinical experience, at least 3 years in a senior clinical leadership or hospital administrative role, proven experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety, strong background in budgeting and financial management, prior experience in the private healthcare sector is required.
