Job Description
Job Overview:
The Medical Director will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across all medical and clinical services of the hospital, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while driving clinical governance, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote patient satisfaction through high-quality, patient-centered care; oversee the development and evaluation of patient safety measures; provide clinical oversight for ongoing projects; lead quality improvement initiatives; supervise clinical audits; provide strategic leadership; coordinate multidisciplinary collaboration; develop and update policies; lead workforce planning; develop and manage clinical and operational budgets; ensure compliance with healthcare regulations; collaborate with marketing and business development teams.
Required Qualifications:
Fellowship qualification from a recognized medical college (e.g., NPMCN, WACP, WACS, or equivalent); full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
Educational Background:
Fellowship qualification from a recognized medical college.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years post-fellowship clinical experience; at least 3 years in a senior medical leadership or hospital administrative role; proven experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety; demonstrated experience in budget planning and financial management; prior experience within the private healthcare sector is required.
