Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer with an engineering background to manage the sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management processes for technical and non-technical materials.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify reliable vendors and suppliers for engineering and operational materials. Evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service, ensuring alignment with company standards. Prepare purchase orders and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services. Collaborate with the engineering and project teams to understand technical requirements and translate them into procurement specifications. Monitor inventory levels and forecast procurement needs to prevent stock-outs or surpluses. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier performance. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to achieve optimal cost savings. Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and ethical standards. Conduct periodic market research to identify cost trends and new suppliers.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related fields) or Procurement/Supply Chain Management with strong technical knowledge. Professional certifications such as CIPS, CILT, or other supply chain credentials are an added advantage. Minimum 1 year and maximum 3 years of relevant working experience in procurement, preferably within an engineering, construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas environment. Strong knowledge of engineering materials, equipment, and technical procurement processes. Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills. Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and professionalism in all interactions. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Attention to detail with a high level of organizational efficiency. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Must reside in Lagos State, preferably on the Island (Lekki, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, or nearby areas).

Educational Background:

Experience:
Minimum 1 year and maximum 3 years of relevant working experience in procurement, preferably within an engineering, construction, manufacturing, or oil & gas environment.
