Job Overview: The position provides technical support for multidisciplinary HIV/AIDS care and treatment, working with the organization's clinicians and health facility-based sites teams to implement care and antiretroviral treatment services, especially Pediatric, PMTCT and AHD services.
Duties and Responsibilities: Work with the Zonal Team Lead to provide strategic direction and technical leadership. Work with other team members to ensure high-quality, client-oriented service delivery at all supported facilities. Lead the increased access and uptake of PMTCT services in line with the eMTCT framework of Ebonyi state. Support the integration of HIV services into existing services in the health sector and strengthen the PPW identification in the community through a data-driven approach. Lead the expansion of HIV case finding, care, treatment, retention, and viral load suppression of the Pediatric age group. Lead the introduction and expansion of AHD services to all supported facilities. Strengthen the capacity of the current PMTCT catch-up teams in line with the TQLA approach. Ensure the linkages of HIV services with other related services, including TB, Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), and other disease programs within the supported facilities. Manage and build the capacity of the facility-level Case Managers and Mentor Mothers Matrix to ensure achievement of the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets at all supported facilities via adherence support, contact tracking, PMTCT, HTS, Index testing, SNT, and PNS. Coordinate the implementation of Cluster Coordinator Meetings to ensure facility ownership of the meeting and improve expected outcomes with regard to capacity building of the spokes on linkages, logistics, and program ownership. Take lead in development and refining of program materials such as clinical guidelines, protocols, algorithms, job aids, drug formularies, and training materials for the HIV Program in the Zone and assigned states. Ensure the integration of all services provided to HIV clients into the routine activities of the facilities and establish effective linkages in the delivery of quality HIV services to clients with intra- and inter-facility services, as well as from the Community. In collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation team, ensure regular review of program performance against quantitative and qualitative targets and, with other team members, develop and implement strategies to address observed gaps. In collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation team, ensure the roll-out of Data Quality Assurance (DQA), RADET, and other key periodic data quality improvement/assurance activities. Facilitate training to build the capacity of health care providers in GF supported facilities. Provide mentorship, monitoring and supervision for quality HIV comprehensive care, treatment, and support to health care providers in supported facilities. Oversee the implementation of multipoint and targeted Provider-Initiated HIV testing and Counselling Services (PITC) at supported facilities. In collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation team, ensure improvement in HIV/AIDS and TB services, data documentation, and reporting at both facility and community levels for program evaluation and planning. Foster effective collaboration, multitasking, and team spirit among staff towards the achievement of targets in all thematic areas. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Strong Analytical Skills to assess program data and inform decision-making. Excellent Communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration. Proficiency in providing Technical Support and managing project operations. Experience in Customer Service to strengthen relationships with partners and beneficiaries. Laboratory Skills and expertise that align with program needs.
Educational Background: Bachelor's or advanced degree in public health, social sciences, or a related field. Minimum Recruitment Standard: University Degree in Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or Doctor of Medicine (MD). MSc/MPH in Public Health or related fields will be an added advantage.
Experience: Knowledge of public health systems in Nigeria and donor-funded project implementation, especially in health-focused settings. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and in community-based settings, with strong problem-solving skills.
Languages: Excellent command of written and spoken English
