Job Overview: A 4 months summer intern position is open in the Advanced Processor Technologies research group of the Computer Science Department at the University of Manchester in the UK, focusing on systems software security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, particularly low-level kernel development in embedded systems without a memory management unit.
Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a specialized operating system called MicrOS, enabling easy and resource-efficient compartmentalisation for embedded devices. They will study memory allocation and access behaviour of embedded applications to derive guidelines for breaking down monolithic software into compartments.
Required Qualifications: Computer science or computer engineering undergraduate students with a background in systems software and/or systems security are sought.
Educational Background: Undergraduate students in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Experience: Background in systems software and/or systems security is preferred.
Languages: English
Additional Notes: This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route. Candidates must demonstrate their right to work in the UK.
