Job Overview: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Plant Electrical and Instrument Engineer to join our manufacturing facility at the Lekki Free Trade Zone. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in industrial electrical systems, motor control, and instrumentation, with proven experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring reliability.
Duties and Responsibilities: Perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of industrial instruments and transmitters (Temperature, Pressure, Flow, Level, and Weight). Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, including power distribution panels, MCCs (Motor Control Centres), and control panels. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electric motors and motor control systems, including: Direct-On-Line (DOL) starters, Star-Delta starters, Soft starters, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). Diagnose and resolve faults in low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems. Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment to minimize downtime. Read, interpret, and update electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs. Ensure proper cable selection, routing, termination, and gland installation in accordance with standards. Conduct testing and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and plant safety policies. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to support continuous and efficient plant operations.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or process-plant environment. Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor control, and instrumentation. Hands-on experience with MCCs, protection systems, and fault diagnosis. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Must be willing to relocate to Ibeju-Lekki.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or process-plant environment.
