Job Overview: We are seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant with a strong background in tax filing and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all statutory tax obligations, ensuring adherence to applicable tax laws, and supporting financial reporting processes. Experience with Tally ERP is considered an advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns, including CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other statutory obligations. Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax laws and regulatory requirements. Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all tax filings and supporting documentation. Liaise with regulatory authorities, including the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and relevant state tax agencies. Monitor changes in tax legislation and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance. Support internal and external audits by providing required tax documentation and schedules. Reconcile tax accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting activities. Provide input on tax planning, risk management, and process improvements.
Required Qualifications: Must be a Chartered Accountant (ICAN or equivalent recognized professional body). Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in tax filing and compliance. Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. Proven experience handling VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, and related statutory filings. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems. Experience with Tally ERP is an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in tax filing and compliance.
