Job Description
Job Overview:
The Director of the Climate Finance Division (CFD) is a leadership role within Kiribati's Ministry of Finance and Economic Development (MFED) responsible for managing the division during a period of significant growth and development. The role will support the Government of Kiribati to lead the CFD and strengthen its strategic approach to accessing multilateral climate funds.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Key duties include mentoring CFD Support Officers and spearheading the development of a 'sustainability plan' to ensure the division remains viable beyond 2026. The role also serves as a critical focal point for the division, requiring a candidate with extensive experience in the field, such as prior work advising on the Green Climate Fund (GCF) board.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree with 3 years' experience and Degree with at least 10 years working experience (environmental, climate change, disaster risk, project management and other relevant field).

Educational Background:
Degree in Economics, Accounting, Public Finance, International Development or other relevant field.

Experience:
10 years or more of relevant experience in development finance, with a strong background in climate change and environmental issues.

Languages:
English
