Hydropower Site Assessment Analyst

Job Overview:
Opes Manus Resources Ltd is building a portfolio of small and medium hydropower projects across Nigeria, focusing on brownfield retrofits and greenfield sites. We seek a motivated hydropower site assessment analyst to support site identification and technical evaluation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct site visits and technical assessments of existing dams and river sites across Nigeria for potential brownfield retrofits or greenfield development. Collect and analyse hydrological data, flow measurements, head calculations, and site photographs. Assess the renovation and upgrade potential of existing dams. Support the preparation of site assessment reports and feasibility studies. Assist in updating hydrological models and flow duration curves. Coordinate with local communities and government agencies during site visits. Support the Technical Lead in preparing technical documentation for various applications. Maintain a database of assessed sites with technical findings and recommendations.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related field. 3–5 years of relevant experience in renewable energy project development, site assessment, or hydropower/dam evaluation. Basic knowledge of hydropower principles and site assessment methodologies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic engineering software.

Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.

Experience:
3–5 years of relevant experience in renewable energy project development, site assessment, or hydropower/dam evaluation.

English

Additional Notes:
Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Nigeria. Experience with solar PV systems is a strong advantage but not mandatory. Strong report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
