Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Freight Forward Coordinator to support efficient end-to-end project logistics and transportation operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinating with Freight Forward Subcontractor (FFS) the transportation for international/domestic shipments (road and ocean) and coordinating with FFS, carriers, PMT representatives, and the Company. Preparing and processing crucial paperwork, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and Certificates of Origin, ensuring compliance with international regulations. Coordinating pick-up and delivery schedules with trucking companies, warehouses, and shipping lines. Acting as an expediter to track shipments in real-time and resolve transit issues, delays, or damage. Supporting Customs clearance processes in Nigeria to avoid shipping delays and penalties, ensuring compliance with regulations, customs, and port regulations. Negotiating shipping rates and managing freight settlement, including reviewing invoices for terminal fees, demurrage, and detention. Acting as the main point of contact between FFS, carriers, and the Company.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Administration, Economics, or Engineering. A master’s degree is an added advantage. Logistics and Freight Forward Training.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Administration, Economics, or Engineering. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in contract and procurement, including at least 5 years handling Nigerian Customs clearances.
Languages:
Proficiency in English is required.
