Job Overview: This role bridges the gap between complex investment activities and formal financial reporting. You will oversee the accurate calculation of Net Asset Values (NAV), manage fund reconciliations, and ensure that all reporting remains compliant with both international accounting standards and local regulatory frameworks.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Fund Accounting & NAV Management
Ledger Maintenance: Maintain meticulous accounting records for a variety of investment funds and complex portfolios.
NAV Calculation: Execute precise Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations, ensuring all income, expenses, and asset price fluctuations are accurately captured.
Valuation & Performance: Produce detailed portfolio valuation and performance reports to track investment ROI and fund health.
2. Financial Reporting & Compliance
Statement Preparation: Draft periodic financial statements and comprehensive investor reports in accordance with relevant frameworks (IFRS/GAAP).
Regulatory Filings: Prepare and submit mandatory reports for regulatory bodies and the board of directors, ensuring 100% adherence to deadlines and compliance standards.
Audit Support: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and clarifying fund positions.
3. Controls & Reconciliations
Asset Reconciliation: Perform rigorous reconciliations of fund holdings against custodian and broker statements to resolve discrepancies immediately.
Financial Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and documentation standards to mitigate risk and prevent errors.
Required Qualifications: Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
Professional Qualification: Must be a Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA).
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
Experience: 3–7 years of demonstrable experience specifically in fund accounting, asset management accounting, or specialized financial reporting.
Additional Notes: Strong command of accounting software and advanced Excel skills for data manipulation. Solid understanding of financial services regulations and IFRS standards. High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when working under tight reporting cycles. Ability to investigate and resolve complex reconciliation issues and valuation anomalies.
