Job Overview: The factory operations coordinator ensures optimal factory operational readiness through effective management of labour resources, facility maintenance, utilities, and HSE compliance while supporting production activities. This role is critical to maintaining continuous operations, minimizing downtime, and ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities: Production Support & Coordination: Work closely with the production manager to ensure smooth execution of all production activities and schedules. Ensure production floor readiness: equipment availability, utilities supply, and workforce deployment. Support material handling operations and coordinate loading/offloading activities as required. Monitor production support services (forklift operations, material movement, slag removal). Escalate production constraints (manpower, equipment, utilities) immediately to management. Labour & Workforce Management: Ensure adequate daily staffing levels across all factory operations (95% manning target). Coordinate workforce allocation based on production priorities and operational needs. Monitor attendance, punctuality, and productivity; escalate manpower shortages to HR/Management. Manage casual/temporary labour for peak periods; maintain accurate deployment records. Support HR in worker recruitment, onboarding, and training to maintain optimal manning. HSE Compliance & Facility Cleanliness: Maintain factory cleanliness and organization to highest standards; conduct regular inspections. Enforce all HSE policies, safety protocols, and environmental regulations throughout the facility. Manage waste segregation and disposal (slag, scrap, hazardous materials); ensure bag house cleanup. Ensure proper PPE availability and usage; coordinate medical screening and emergency response. Maintain HSE compliance documentation and prepare regulatory reports. Equipment Maintenance & Utilities Management: Coordinate preventive/corrective maintenance of all equipment: furnaces, forklifts, tractors, conveyors. Ensure continuous availability of power supply, gas supply, water, and compressed air. Monitor equipment uptime (95% target); track downtime and implement corrective actions. Manage generator operations, fuel supply, and utility vendor relationships. Maintain maintenance schedules, work orders, equipment logs, and submit weekly reports. General Operational Coordination: Coordinate with external vendors (cleaning, maintenance, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, utilities) and manage contracts. Process work orders and service requests; ensure proper documentation and approvals. Participate in daily production meetings; provide updates on readiness and resource requirements. Support continuous improvement initiatives for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or operations management. HSE, Facilities Management, or Maintenance Management certifications are an advantage.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in Lead Recycling, Aluminium Recycling, or Steel Recycling operations. Proven track record in factory operations coordination or facilities management in metal recycling. Demonstrated experience managing industrial labour and workforce scheduling in manufacturing. Strong background in HSE compliance, safety management, and environmental regulations in heavy industry. Experience coordinating furnace operations, material handling equipment, and industrial utilities. Understanding of metal recycling processes, furnace operations, and smelting/refining workflows. Knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance (furnaces, forklifts, conveyors, material handling). Familiarity with HSE regulations, OSHA standards, and environmental compliance in recycling industry. Understanding of power systems, generators, gas supply systems, and industrial utilities. Proficiency in ERP systems (Odoo preferred) and Microsoft Office for reporting.
