Job Description
Job Overview:
The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and controlling production and operational costs. The role involves preparing cost reports, budgeting, and providing management with accurate cost information to support decision-making and improve profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and record costs related to raw materials (wood, fabric, foam, fittings), labor, and production overheads. Prepare detailed cost sheets, variance analysis, and product profitability reports. Develop and maintain standard costing systems for furniture production processes. Monitor inventory valuation, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, and cost of goods sold (COGS). Assist in preparing production budgets and cost forecasts. Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements in manufacturing and material usage. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal company policies. Support internal and external audits by providing accurate cost and inventory documentation. Work closely with production, procurement, and finance teams to ensure accurate costing and pricing.

Required Qualifications:
Good understanding of construction site operations and workflows. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Cost analysis and budgeting. Financial reporting. Inventory and variance analysis. Problem-solving and critical thinking. Time management and organization.

Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying OR Finance

Experience:
3-5 years’ experience as a Cost Accountant, preferably in a construction, furniture manufacturing company, or engineering company.

Languages:
English

Additional Notes:
Professional certification (NIQS, ICAN, ACCA, CPA) is an added advantage.
