Job Description
Job Overview:
The Associate Finance Officer will be responsible for financial management and project oversight within the Humanitarian Financing Units in Nigeria, ensuring compliance with guidelines and effective use of funds.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain country SOPs for financial workflows; ensure quality control of project budgets; provide guidance on administrative procedures. 2. Review project budgets and requests for amendments; provide recommendations. 3. Track and review financial reports; liaise with auditors; maintain a database for cost-effectiveness analysis. 4. Support knowledge sharing and conduct partner visits as needed.

Required Qualifications:
An advanced university degree in project management, development studies, international relations, public administration, economics, accounting, or a related field is required. A relevant first-level university degree with additional experience may be accepted.

Educational Background:
Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields; first-level degree with additional experience may be accepted.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in grant/programme management, humanitarian affairs, or related fields; experience in humanitarian financing is required; experience with UN agencies or international NGOs is desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
