Job Description
Job Overview:
Oversee equipment and production line performance to ensure optimal performance always in an FMCG/Bottling Plant.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and initiate systems and processes that track and optimize machine performance to ensure effective returns on assets. Establish and implement plant maintenance programme based on best practices in the Beverage manufacturing industry. Drive compliance with defined maintenance standards to achieve set plant efficiencies and maximum capacity utilization. Ensure all maintenance and overhauling activities are carried out in line with best practices and least cost. Drive continuous improvement in all maintenance activities. Develop, plan and implement good maintenance practices to ensure effective asset utilization. Drive compliance with ORGANISATION Risk Management Standards and Food Safety requirements in engineering and maintenance activities. Enforce the company’s standards of health, safety and environmental practices, the protection of staff in the production floor (use of PPEs) as well as the protection of the company’s assets. Ensure proper documentation and records of all machine information, including tools, spare parts, etc. Drive the implementation of best-in-class manufacturing related initiatives such as PPMS (Perfect Plant Manufacturing Systems), etc. Ensure effective analysis of breakdowns and put corrective measures in place to improve availability and OEE. Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory and statutory requirements on machine operations and maintenance. Ensure technical functions and activities are carried out in line with 5S, TPM, WCM, Manufacturing excellence, Six Sigma, etc. Liaise with relevant statutory, regulatory and government agencies in ensuring effective compliance. Assist in commissioning and start-up of new projects/plants. Develop and train technical team to improve the effectiveness of implementation of best/next practices in the area of work.

Required Qualifications:
First Degree or its equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical/Automation Engineering or other related discipline. Professional membership of COREN and NSE.

Educational Background:
First Degree or its equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical/Automation Engineering or other related discipline.

Experience:
Minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. Experience of managing engineering function of a bottling plant, preferably on Krones bottling lines.
