Job Overview: The Creative Direction Intern will support the creative vision, design, and execution of TravelTube’s original shows, movies, and anime projects. This role is ideal for interns passionate about storytelling, visual culture, animation, youth media, and African narratives.
Duties and Responsibilities: Support the development of creative concepts for shows, movies, and anime; Assist in defining visual styles, themes, and storytelling direction; Contribute ideas for characters, worlds, story arcs, and episode structures; Collaborate with scriptwriters on tone, pacing, and audience engagement; Work with animation and production teams to ensure creative consistency; Help ensure content aligns with educational goals and age appropriateness; Participate in brainstorming sessions, creative reviews, and pitch development; Support creative documentation such as mood boards, concept notes, and style guides.
Required Qualifications: Strong interest in film, TV shows, animation, or anime; Passion for African stories, youth culture, and education; Basic understanding of storytelling, visuals, or media production; Creative thinker with strong imagination and idea generation skills; Ability to work collaboratively in a creative team; Willingness to learn and experiment with new formats and styles.
Educational Background: University students or recent graduates; Film, media, animation, arts, or creative students; Self-taught creatives passionate about storytelling; Young Africans interested in building the future of African media.
Experience: Nice to Have (Not Required): Background in film, media, animation, fine arts, or design; Experience with storyboarding, illustration, or animation tools; Familiarity with youth or educational content; Interest in global shows, anime, or animated storytelling.
