Job Description
Job Overview:
As the Trading Operations Associate at Kora, you will be responsible for managing the daily reconciliation and settlement of all transactions processed by Kora, designing and executing operational processes around how we settle payouts to merchants, managing daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of settlements, and escalating to banking partners, liquidity providers, payment processors, and more for any risk-related issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily processing and control of related financial transactions. Ensure all payments and settlements are made on time. Monitor and report daily position of Kora’s settlement accounts. Provide the supervisor with updated information on outstanding items to minimise risk. Daily verification and matching of all clearing and settlement accounts. Monitor and provide supporting comments daily, weekly, and monthly to the team lead on ageing entries outstanding on clearing-related accounts. Running and execution of daily reports. Prompt and accurate delivery of funds to customers and banks to create a positive corporate image and minimise claims. Maintain and manage treasury and settlement files, bank records, financial logs and reports. Maintain, manage and update settlement data. Review and ensure compliance with policies and procedures and country regulatory requirements. Provide support on audit issues about operational issues, including management response, follow-up, correction and reporting. All other duties aligned with payments and settlements as directed by management.

Required Qualifications:
1–3 years of experience in a tech start-up and/or high-growth start-up and/or fast-paced, hypergrowth environment is preferred. Proficiency with the Google Office suite; data-analytics skills are a plus. Hands-on knowledge of Operational control / Reconciliation functions. Attention to detail. Problem Analysis. Time Management, Planning and organisation skills. Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Quality and customer focus. Ability to operate with a sense of urgency while not compromising on quality. Interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients and an ability to influence stakeholders. You are exceptionally driven and autonomous. Empathy, a collaborative spirit, a sense of humour and a positive attitude. You bring positive energy, are comfortable with change and can manage your own workload effectively. Finally, you are an out-of-the-box thinker and think of new ways to disrupt the status quo.
