Job Description
Job Overview:
Seeking a detail-driven Hotel Accountant to manage all financial operations. Must have hands-on experience in hospitality accounting, cost control, inventory, and statutory compliance. Responsible for accurate reporting, preventing revenue leakages, and enforcing financial discipline.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports; Produce Profit & Loss statements and perform variance analysis; Maintain accurate accounting records, ledgers, and documentation; Monitor cash flow, income, and expenditure across all departments; Reconcile daily revenue from Front Office, POS, bar, and other outlets; Review night audit reports and ensure accuracy of postings; Identify and address revenue leakages and discrepancies; Implement internal controls to safeguard hotel revenue; Monitor and control operational costs across departments; Supervise inventory management (store, kitchen, bar); Maintain and enforce bin card and stock control systems; Analyze food and beverage cost percentages and recommend improvements; Process supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations; Manage vendor relationships and ensure proper documentation; Track receivables, including corporate clients and outstanding balances; Ensure timely collections and payments; Ensure timely and accurate remittance of all statutory obligations; Maintain proper statutory records and documentation; Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities when required; Support internal and external audits; Utilize accounting software, POS systems, and Excel for reporting and analysis; Improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and control systems; Work closely with operations to align financial goals with business performance.

Required Qualifications:
HND/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience (hospitality experience is a strong advantage); Solid understanding of financial reporting, cost control, and audit processes; Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory remittances; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; Experience with POS and hotel management systems; High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to work independently and enforce financial discipline.

Educational Background:
HND/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience (hospitality experience is a strong advantage)
