Job Overview: The Republic is seeking a detail-oriented, discreet, and highly organized Executive Support Assistant to temporarily support the CEO during the maternity leave of the current Executive Assistant. This role is high-trust and fast-paced, requiring someone who can manage complex calendars, high-volume communication, and sensitive tasks with efficiency and grace.
Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the CEO’s calendar, including scheduling internal and external meetings across time zones; Triage email inbox and flag/respond to time-sensitive correspondence; Coordinate travel, logistics, and event arrangements; Maintain key dashboards and weekly reporting templates (via Notion and Excel); Liaise with team leads to ensure deadlines and task priorities are managed; Support personal admin as needed (errands, scheduling, etc.).
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or humanities with interest in media/journalism; 2–4 years in an executive assistant, project coordination, or operations role; Strong familiarity with Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, Zoom, and digital calendars; Exceptional written and verbal communication; Confidentiality and discretion; Ability to shadow and absorb nuanced systems quickly; Preferred: familiarity with The Republic and the broader African digital media ecosystem.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or humanities with interest in media/journalism.
Experience: 2–4 years in an executive assistant, project coordination, or operations role.
Languages: Exceptional written and verbal communication.
Additional Notes: Competitive salary – For this role, our offer is N400,000 (net) per month; Hybrid working arrangement with 3 office days only; Remote work allowance (monthly internet subscription up to N20,000); Lunch provision on office days and transportation coverage on office days via professional commuting service.
