Job Overview: The Chief of Staff is the CEO’s strategic execution partner, driving organizational alignment, accountability, and momentum. This role spans strategy, operations, and special projects to ensure high-priority initiatives are executed efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities: Manage executive priorities, decision flow, and follow-through. Prepare briefings on risks, deadlines, and growth opportunities. Translate CEO ideas into actionable plans and timelines. Free the CEO to focus on fundraising and strategic leadership. Oversee execution across operations, technology, and delivery. Resolve blockers and lead business progress reviews. Lead market expansion, fundraising readiness, and product launches. Conduct research and build business cases for new initiatives. Enforce accountability for meeting commitments and follow-ups. Design reporting systems and performance dashboards. Manage preparations for board, investor, and government meetings. Draft executive memos, presentations, and briefing notes. Identify inefficiencies and implement systems, processes, and automation. Help build a high-performance culture centered on ownership, speed, and transparency.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Finance, Management, or related field. MBA is a plus. 5+ years experience in consulting, strategy, operations, startups, venture building, development finance, or executive support. Exceptional project management and execution discipline. Strong analytical thinking and business judgment. Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, founder-led environment. Strong bias for action and problem-solving.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Finance, Management, or related field. MBA is a plus.
Experience: 5+ years experience in consulting, strategy, operations, startups, venture building, development finance, or executive support.
Languages: English
Additional Notes: Experience in startups, tech platforms, donor ecosystems, ESG, philanthropy, or African development sectors. Experience working directly with founders, CEOs, or senior executives. Familiarity with dashboards, CRMs, productivity systems, and data tools.
