Job Overview: The Television Video Editor will be responsible for editing high-quality television programs, documentaries, interviews, promotional videos, social media content, event highlights, commercials, and digital media productions for Housing TV Africa and AIHS platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities: Edit television programs, full news bulletins, interviews, talk shows, documentaries, and housing-related content for broadcast. Produce high-quality video packages for Housing TV Africa and AIHS events. Edit weekly TV programs, panel discussions, conferences, and special reports. Create compelling opening sequences, transitions, lower thirds, and motion graphics. Edit promotional videos and TV commercials for AIHS and partner organizations. Produce highlight reels from conferences, exhibitions, site visits, and housing events. Develop teaser videos, countdown videos, and campaign content for AIHS social media platforms. Handle fast-turnaround editing during live events and exhibitions. Create short-form videos optimized for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X. Design engaging reels, shorts, and online video campaigns. Add subtitles, captions, branding, and visual effects suitable for digital audiences. Manage raw video footage, organize media files, and archive edited content properly. Perform color correction, sound synchronization, audio balancing, and video enhancement. Ensure all edited materials meet broadcast quality standards. Work closely with presenters, producers, camera operators, and management team. Assist in conceptualizing TV programs and documentary storytelling. Support live event coverage and post-production activities. Suggest innovative editing styles and creative ideas to improve audience engagement.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or relevant certification in Mass Communication, Film Production, Media Studies, Multimedia, or related field. Minimum of 2–5 years experience in video editing, television production, or digital media. Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop (added advantage). Knowledge of television broadcast workflow and digital media production. Understanding of camera formats, codecs, and video exporting standards.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or relevant certification in Mass Communication, Film Production, Media Studies, Multimedia, or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years experience in video editing, television production, or digital media.
Languages: English
