Job Overview: As a Business Development Executive at 8thGear Hub & Venture Studio, you will play a key role in driving the growth and success of our portfolio ventures, impact projects, and hub services.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Venture Building Support: Provide strategic and operational support to our portfolio ventures, assisting in scaling their operations and achieving business milestones. Work closely with startups and tech MSMEs in our ecosystem, offering business advice, mentorship, and access to relevant resources. 2. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive insights relevant to our ventures and hub services. Analyze market data to develop growth strategies and position our services to meet the demands of the market. 3. Proposal Development and Grant Writing: Write compelling proposals, concept notes, and grant applications that clearly articulate our value proposition and project impact. Develop presentations and pitches to communicate the unique benefits of our services to potential clients and partners. 4. Client Interfacing and Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and strong relationship management throughout the project lifecycle. Identify client needs and work collaboratively with internal teams to develop tailored solutions that address their specific challenges. 5. Sales and Revenue Generation: Develop and implement sales strategies aimed at increasing revenue from our hub services, including training programs, consulting, and workspace solutions. Meet or exceed sales targets by effectively selling our services to startups, tech MSMEs, and other businesses. 6. Strategic Partnerships: Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships that can enhance our service offerings or expand our market reach. Lead negotiations and finalize partnership agreements that align with 8thGear’s business objectives. 8. Reporting and Analytics: Maintain accurate records of business development activities, client interactions, and deal progress in CRM systems. Provide regular reports to management on sales performance, market trends, and business development initiatives.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, or a related field (MBA preferred). Proven track record in business development, venture building, or sales roles, preferably within the tech ecosystem. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn market data into actionable business strategies. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using CRM software, AI tools (including Generative AI), and the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of market dynamics, especially within the innovation and entrepreneurship landscape.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, or a related field (MBA preferred).
