Job Overview: The role will provide leadership in financial management, ensuring timely and accurate financial planning, reporting, and analysis, while strengthening internal controls and supporting decision-making across the ministry.
Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee General Ledger management including journal entries, adjustments, execute month-end and year-end closing procedures and ensure integrity of financial data. Prepare and monitor budgets against actual performance, analyze variances, identify areas of cost reduction and provide actionable insights to budget holders. Ensure accuracy of financial records, reconciliations, accuracy and completeness of financial records through verification and validation of source documents and ERP postings. Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts including budgets and variance analysis, balance sheet and cash flow projections to aid in strategic decision making. Manage treasury functions including cash flow forecasting, payroll processing, statutory deductions, and electronic payments. Supervise, mentor and review the work of finance staff to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness and compliance with policies and procedures. Maintain fixed assets and inventory controls, ensuring proper recording and safeguarding of assets. Prepare audit schedules, draft accounts/FS, and co-ordinate audit exercises to ensure compliance with IFRSes, statutory requirements, and internal policies. Establish, maintain, and enforce robust internal control procedures to protect the ministry assets and ensure the reliability of financial data. Ensure adherence to all applicable local and international laws and regulations, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ensure all regulatory returns are done on time. Provide financial insights and support decision-making across departments and units.
Required Qualifications: Must be a born-again, mature Christian who conforms to the CITAM Statement of Faith.
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in commerce/ business administration (Accounting/Finance option).
Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience, with supervisory responsibility in a similar role. Experience working within a parachurch or faith-based organization is highly desirable.
Languages: Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
