Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Structural DesignEngineer to join our team. The role involves designing, analyzing, and optimizing structural systems for various projects, ensuring safety, durability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Structural Analysis & Design: Perform structural calculations and simulations for Industrial, Residential & Commercial buildings and other infrastructure projects. Design steel, concrete, timber, and composite structures in compliance with applicable codes (e.g., ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, other International Codes). Develop structural models using software like ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, or similar. Develop structural design drawings, specifications, and reports. Use mathematical and scientific principles to analyze structures and determine their ability to withstand pressures and loads. 2. Project Management: Assist in project planning, and material selection. Choosing appropriate construction materials that will be strong enough and durable for the structure being designed, while also considering factors such as cost and sustainability. 3. Collaboration & Coordination: Working closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure that structural designs integrate seamlessly with the overall design of the building or infrastructure project. Provide technical support during construction, addressing site queries and modifications and finding solutions that maintain the structural integrity of the project. Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with design specifications. 4. Inspecting and Assessing Structures: Conduct site inspections to ensure structural integrity and adherence to design specifications. Addressing any issues that may arise during the construction process and finding solutions that maintain the structural integrity of the project. 5. Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring that all designs comply with local regulations and International building codes and safety regulations. Conduct risk assessments and implement structural safety measures. 6. Research and Innovation: Staying updated on advancements in structural engineering technology and materials and integrating new techniques into the designs where appropriate. Explore innovative structural materials and design techniques for sustainability and cost-effectiveness. Implement value engineering principles to optimize structural performance. 7. Documentation: Preparing detailed reports, drawings, and specifications to communicate technical information to clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Collaborate with Architects/Draftsman to develop construction-ready blueprints. Ensure clarity and accuracy in structural design documents.
Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited institution. Proficiency in structural analysis and design software. COREN Certification. Strong understanding of construction materials, geotechnical principles, and seismic design. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Educational Background: Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
Experience: Minimum 10 years with experience in managing design aspects of large-scale projects.
